Digital Camera

Menu: Where you can change of many settings on your camera such as image quality, IOS, white balance. It’s at the back of the camera and has a number of sub sections.

Aperture: Controls how much light comes into the camera and effects depth of field. A larger aperture means not much DOF and smaller aperture is greater DOF.

Shutter Speed: Control how long light is let in to the camera. Fast shutter speeds freeze action, slow shutter speeds create blur or used used for low light situations.

ISO: Effects the sensitivity of your camera to light. A small ISO needs more light gives good quality and ISO needs less light but gives a poor quality.

File Format: DSLR cameras have got option of JPED or RAW. JPEG is smaller and compresses the image, RAW is larger and retains all information. RAW allows for editing options latter but it needs special software (Lightroom/Photoshop).

Focus: Choose the image where you want to focus on. This can be done manually or automatically. Manual allows more control over where you focus.

Manuel Mode: Allows you complete control over the setting in the camera, therefore more creative in the image you create. Most professionals would use but not often.
